Bemusement and Indignation

Maori committee to investigate smoking

'This is a war against people who kill New Zealanders'

Basically, the gist is, the Maori Affairs parlimentary select committee are investigating the impact the tabacco industry is having on Maori People.

This may seem like a bit of a dull article,  but with Hone Harawira involved, it never can be:

'To be brutally frank I'd like to lynch these bastards."

This quote was sadly omitted from One News.

In other news...
Phar Lap statue almost complete
(http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2896269/Phar-Lap-statue-almost-complete/)

Only in NZ is this considered News worthy.
It seems we always, ALMOST do something

Whats even worse, is this article was ranked higher on the Stuff.com website then:
School Girl Killer appeals sentence  - The Rapist and Killer of Marie Davis mind that.
and
Woman Shot Dead in Matamata

Only in NZ.

Eggbeaters of light...

Here's some outfits from a friend's birthday party... unfortunately I can't remember where all Harriet's stuff is from!

*enter Harriet*
Top was thrifted, Belt comes from my completely gorgeous rock and roll dress, jeans are from JayJays and the shoes are just really old vans that i've had for ages :)
*Harriet leaves again*

My dress was a birthday present, cardigan is my sister's from supre and the shoes are from Wild Pair. They're awesome. But I walk very slowly in them.

Here are the aforementioned eggbeaters of light... no idea how I managed to take this photo but it looks cool. I love taking photos without flash. There's a few more cool ones I might put up later!

Pyjama mufti day without pyjamas

Wow this is a brilliant layout. Unfortunately how to get pictures in the right order with words between them eludes me. Anyway, pyjama mufti day! Although I have awesome pyjamas the world was not ready for them on Thursday. Their time will come. As it is... my outfit is: black top of my mums, cardigan of my mums, pink top is Billabong, awesome new green jeans are Diesel and boots are Cravo and Canela. Harriet pointed out the other day that I always wear them in blog pictures... my bad. I actually did want to wear my high heels but it was raining and I had to walk into town after school!

Harriet chose to delete one of the photos Isobel had put on, but managed to delete both because she's retarded like that.

Zebra print + Legwarmers

Hi again!

Here's mine and Harriet's outfits on mufti day at school last week. The theme was sports I think but that wasn't really our style. Harriet's stuff is all from Trademe except the shoes which I'm not sure about, and probably the tights cause it would just be weird to get tights on Trademe. My stuff is nearly all homemade! I made the top and vest, my mum knitted the legwarmers. Shoes are from Overland.
And yes our school is weird enough to have a lamp post and the new orb sculpture which Harriet is in front of. Next time we will showcase the door which is halfway up a wall in the music block.
-Isobel

Edit
Isobel is right, the jacket and skirt are from trade me, shirt from cotton on, shoes from overland and tights from farmers xD
And I totally agree with the door halfway up the wall - got to love our school!

Oh and Blenheim is officially the best place for opshopping, I found the must awesome clothes there super cheap. They'll probably feature soon :D

Another brief comment

"Your friends will like you more if you had an x-box" - Harvey Norman Ad

I laughed very hard when I heard this. Harvey Norman are so desperate to sell off their XBox stock that their advertising now includes a major dis to everyone who sees it.

Depressing.

Just briefly

I must admit, I find it slightly concerning that TV3 News uses the phrase "going troppo" in a news segment. Especially when it's describing tax evasion. It seems to me that using colloquialism in a desperate attempt to attract the youthful audience that 3 news supposedly appeals to is possibly going a step too far. Or maybe I'm just old at heart xD

Feijoa Freedom

So... come here often?

Due to various camera related issues (i.e. lack of batteries and a camera being crushed in an orthodontist chair) we've kinda been fail bloggers. Not to be confused with failblog. Anywho.

Never mind, we're back now.

After an intense Amnesty International meeting, we had a rather enjoyable photoshoot in the garden courtesy of Miss M. Feijoa, our nome de plume-ed camera lender/photographer.

This morning, I (being Harriet) arrived early at Isobel's house, and decided to style her an outfit. . .
I (Isobel) refused to wear it.
Lets just say I looked like the child of a jester and an elephant.

What I actually wore: Top: Barack Obama t-shirt from Hawaii airport (my Dad went there not me) Vest: Homemade! Skirt: Lee Tights: my Mum gave them to me Boots: Cravo and Canela

This photo took quite a lot of effort as Harriet and I have very different jumping styles.
Apparently Isobel is better at falling then I am. Who knew?
Oh, and might I add, she still wore my top and vest co-ordination. I thought it was quite inspired actually.

Anywho my outfit. Top: Sussy, Skirt: Handmade by Isobel! It's actually hers. . Belt: Again, Isobel's. Tights: Glassons, Shoes: Special "The Who" Edition Chuck Taylor Hightops.

It was fun okay xD

Now for some plugging :D
Our aforementioned Amnesty International meeting was thoroughly interesting, if not low key xD There were 6 attendees, but thats besides the point! We discussed ideas to raise awareness and money for Amnesty during Freedom Week, 3 -8 August. There was some pretty cool stuff really, and some community events may be appearing soon. So if you see Amnesty International people around, give them some money! We can't campaign for those who can't without resources.

I wish I was a pilot.

Well, at least my jacket does.
Welcome to our blog!

So, I'm Harriet. Yup. *awkward silence*

The outfit : Top: Lolita, Jacket: bought off Trademe, Skirt: Vintage from Tete a Tete, Shoes: Vintage from Tete a Tete
And I am Isobel =)

Outfit: Dress: Vintage from Tete a Tete, Boots: Cravo and Canela

Basically this is our blog about fashion, and whatever else we may feel like talking about/showing you. Like the sky, as you can see. Our fair city has a smog problem! Not exactly a good thing, but it makes for some pretty cool photography. I find it rather epic that it's a straight line, hovering above the city. Creepy much?
We just thought it'd be fun to post pictures of outfits we deem worthy of the internet, and rant about things when we feel the need.
